STARZ anuncio la preproducion de 6 pre-episodios para la serie Spartacus: Sangre y Arena (siempre me acuerdo de Hemingway con ese titulo) . La produccion empezara este verano en Nueva Zelanda y saldra al aire en Enero del 2011. Andy Whitfield, quien hace el papel de Spartacus casi no participara en esta produccion ya que se encuentra en tratamiento por Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Esta pre-serie estara enfocada en la Casa de Batiatus y los campenos antes de Spartacus. Los protagonistas sera John Hannah (Batiatus) y Lucy Lawless (Lucretia)

In his new role, Escobar will oversee all of Telemundos network news operations. He will develop strategic plans for all news properties while supervising the news programming at the network. Escobar brings to Telemundo an impressive background and experience in media having served as media executive in News and Entertainment, cable, network and local TV in English and Spanish. He joins Telemundo from Sucherman Consulting Group, one of the leading media consulting firms in the country, where he was Vice President of consulting for the last two years. He worked with several major media clients in programming, news and digital media strategy. His clients included ABC News, Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC, AOL, BBC America and Rainbow Communications. Before joining Sucherman in 2007, Escobar was Senior Executive Vice President of Entertainment for Telemundo, where he led the network’s programming and production strategy. He oversaw the development, production and launch of more than 35 primetime shows and specials.
Prior to that, Escobar worked as Senior Vice President of News & Creative Services for the Telemundo Station Group. Logo gave the green light to The Robert Verdi Show Starring Robert Verdi, The Arrangement, Kept and RuPaul's Drag U.
The latter, looking to build on the network's most popular series, RuPaul's Drag Race, which will launch its second season Feb. 1, will give everyday women a chance to unleash their inner diva via a series of challenges. La serie de ABC, "Modern Family", protagonizada por la actriz colombiana Sofía Vergara, ha sido nominada en la categoría Mejor Comedia o Serie Musical de Televisión para la edición número 67 de los premios Golden Globes 2010.
"Modern Family" es considerada por la revista de la industria del entretenimiento, Variety, como una de las mejores comedias del 2009 y compite con la nueva serie de FOX, "Glee", y otras series como "30 Rock" y "The Office" de NBC, y "Entourage" de HBO.
La ceremonia de los Golden Globes se llevará a cabo el próximo 17 de enero en la ciudad de Los Angeles en donde se hará un reconocimiento a las mejores series televisivas y películas del año.

El programa de opinión pública así como nuevo pues no, José Díaz Balart conducía antes un programa de opinión pública los domingos y en la misma cadena.
También entre los cambios, Díaz Balart sera el nuevo conductor del noticiario nacional vespertino .?Que va a pasar con Pedro Sevcec? Se los dejo de tarea.....
Intentaran también la sinergia entre las noticias y el mundo digital,todo esto a cargo de Jose Marquez quien se reportará a Peter Blacker, Vicepresidente de la division on-line e interactiva (acuérdense fue el que se trajeron de AOL).

La actriz , cantante y activista María Conchita Alonso se convierte en la voz y la imágen de la Fundación sin fines de lucro ONE Children’s Foundation, cuya misión fundamental es ayudar a niños de todas partes del mundo, atendiendo necesidades básicas de salud, alimentación y educación, entre otras.

Después de anos de especulación por fin se anuncia la creación de Univision Studios los que estarán localizados en Miami, Florida . A la par con todos los Studios de producción de Telemundo/RTI , Venevision , Plural, Endemol.Univision Studios promete la produccion de series y contenido original, me imagino que estamos hablando de telenovelas o culebrones, reality series (que de realidad no tienen nada, hasta para eso escriben guiones), especiales de entretenimiento , series dramaticas, etc.
Como ya se sabe, la mayoría de la programación de Univision se la compran a Televisa y después del último litigio y 25 millones de dolares para Televisa, Univision decide intentar producir su programación.
La última telenovela que se hizo con producción de Univision fue bajo Paloma Productions "Te Amare en Silencio" por alla del 2003 protagonizada por Eduardo Yanez y Carolina Da Fonseca.

Este viernes en la Ciudad de Nueva York veran a 50 conejitos blancos (personas disfrazadas de conejo) repartiendo cartas de juego que promueven la nueva serie de SYFY "Alice" que es una nueva adaptacion de "Alicia en el Pais de la Maravillas".Para ser justa la obra original es de Lewis Carroll.
La mini-serie dura cuatro horas e inicia el Domingo a las 9pm (tiempo este) por SYFY.
La campana publicitaria inlcuye tambien spots por radio con la musica que ha inspirado "Alicia en el pais de las Maravillas" como Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit".
Esta mini-pelicula se presenta muy a tiempo ya que el ano que entra estrena la pelicula de Tim Burton .
Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval por BBC) da vida al "Sombrerero Loco" , Kathy Bates es "La reina de corazones" y Katherina Scorsone es "Alicia". La mayoria del reparto son actores ingleses reconocidos. La filmacion se llevoa cabo en Vancouver, Canada.

A poco creen que el reinado de Oprah Winfrey va a terminar. Claro que no, si para eso compro su canal Oprah Winfrey Network. Se retira de su show pero se va dedicar tiempo completo a su canal...Estoy segura que todo se tendra que llamar Oprah..asi como todo lo que produce bajo HARPO PRODUCTIONS.

The channel scheduled a slew of popular sci-fi shows for the first week, including new Torchwood episodes Monday-Friday, that had many viewers talking about the channel on Twitter on Monday.
Citing complications involving the availability of HD shows such as Torchwood: Children of Earth, which only just aired on the BBC in the United Kingdom with big ratings, the network did not announce the HD launch date until June 1. Friday was a huge night for kids’ TV, with Disney Channel airing the much-anticipated “Hannah Montana,” “Suite Life on Deck” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” crossover special
“Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” averaged 3.8 million kids 6-11 and 3.7 million tweens 9-14, becoming the No. 2 show on broadcast or cable this year in those demos, behind only the Super Bowl.
“Wizards on Deck” was the most-watched Friday telecast on Disney since “High School Musical 2” drew more than 17 million viewers two years ago.

The latest Twitter hack appears to have been the result of guessing the password of company co-founder Evan Williams via GoogleApps service, according to reports. The cracked password allowed the hacker to access company finances, biz dev plans, spreadsheets and personal info., including details of his wife's computer. The hacker went so far as to send some of the juicy details to two prominent tech blogs - TechCrunch in S.F. and Korben in France and TechCrunch published a document that pegs Twitter's revenues at $1.54 billion by 2013. (By this time, Twitter hopes to have a billion users worldwide.) Analysts shrugged off the projections as "overly optimistic," in the words of eMarketer's Paula Verna. Security experts utilized the whole affair to remind users to choose their passwords carefully and to remind IT departments to beef up encryption efforts.

Estamos en Primavera y con ella vienen los Upfronts que ya no son lo que eran antes. Adios al Glamour y a tirar la casa por la ventana para presentar nueva programación. Confórmense con conferencias de prensa. Esta semana Telemundo dió a conocer su programación para el 2009-2010 y por supuesto anunciaron producción original (bueno así como original de nadie más lo ha hecho antes,pues no) pero en cuanto a que la producen ellos eso que ni que.
En su ya comprobada exitosa fórmula de novelas colombianas, temas de narcotráfico y mujeres con menos ropa que cerebro nos traen las siguientes telenovelas:
"Nino Ricos, Pobres Padres" la versión corregida y aumentada de "Rebelde" pero sin canciones, espero. La protagonista será la actriz Carmen Villalobos (de "Sin senos no hay paraiso") chequen el promo en You tube....entre el reparto se menciona a Aldemar Correa, Johana Bahamón, Angélica Blandón, Katherine Siachoque, Gabriel “Elmer” Valenzuela, Andrés Fierro y a lo mejor Katie Barberi.
"Perro Amor" la cual suena a titulo de canción de Jose Alfredo porque claro no creo que podían haberle puesto Amor Perro porque todos la confundirian con la pelicula en plural. Esta novela de hecho es un remake, la original se hizo en 1998 en Colombia y es la historia de dos primos que son amantes y que basicamente se dedican a destruirle la vida a todo el que se les atraviesa. A el le dicen "el Perro", sin comentarios.
"Rosalinda y Primitivo" La historia de un típico triángulo de amor entre 2 medios hermanos enamorados de la misma mujer.
"La Reina del Sur" adaptación del libro de Arturo Perez Reverte, capa episodio costara de acuerdo a Telemundo $100,000 dolares y solo seran 50-70 episodios en total o sea una miniserie.
"Victorinos" la historia de 3 hombres que nacieron el mismo día y con el mismo nombre (vidas paralelas) y que no saben que ninguno de los otros existe , ésta novela ya se empezó a grabar en Colombia en los estudios de RTI y será protagonizada por Roberto Manrique y Juan Carlos Salazar.
Y por último la muy esperada nueva version de la novela brasilena "El Clon" , la produciran en conjunción con TV Globo y las locaciones seran California y los estudios de Telemundo en Colombia.

KATV Little Rock is smack in the middle of a “25 Cities in 25 Days” campaign that sees reporter Jessica Dean schlepping around Arkansas in an RV and filing stories on her findings in any number of digital ways, including streaming video and Twittering.
Prior to Dean’s trek, KATV made headlines by training multiple Webcams on Kristin Fisher (they were known as “Kristin-Cams”) as she went about her workday. Viewers communicated with Fisher and had a say in what reports she was following made it to air.
This is not news, but I just found out that Fisher is now at WUSA Washington, which has perhaps been the most vocal station around when it comes to multimedia journalists. Reporters jump for bigger stations in bigger markets every day, but one suspects that the mega-exposure Fisher got via the Kristin-Cams (as well as publicity in the local papers…columnist John Brummett absolutely abhored the Kristin-Cams…and, yes, Broadcasting & Cable), played a part in getting Fisher on the radar.

Y en la última de las batallas entre Univision y Televisa esta la de la guerra digital.
Univision dice que cuando le vendieron el contenido de las novelas le da derecho a usarlas en el internet.Televisa dice que ellos tiene el derecho sobre su contenido y quieren que el contenido este al alcance de los Estados Unidos pero a traves de Televisa no de Univision.
La fecha para Corte despues de una modificacion es Junio 9 del 2009.
Mi humilde opinion es que Univision solo compro los derechos para transmision en televisiony que si quiere usar el contenido en medio digital tiene que pagar. Independientemente de lo que ya pagaron en regalias en el otro juicio.

You’re Welcome America- A Final Night with George W. Bush, the Broadway play from former Saturday Night Live funnyman Will Ferrell, delivered 2.3 million viewers Saturday night. That is the largest audience for an HBO comedy special since 2004’s Chris Rock: Never Scared.
The ratings growth continued the next day, as Big Love drew its second highest rated episode of the season with 2.3 million viewers, and Ferrell-produced comedy Eastbound & Down drew 941,000 viewers, up 41% from the series premiere.

It didn't take long for Maryam Banikarim to find a new gig.The former Univision CMO has been hired by NBC Universal as senior vice president, integrated sales marketing.
In her new post, Banikarim, who resigned her position at Univision on Feb. 11, is responsible for the enterprise marketing sales efforts for the company, working with clients outside of the transactional environment to identify targeted advertising opportunities across a spectrum of NBCU platforms. In this capacity, Banikarim, who is in Iran and unavailable for immediate comment, reports to Mike Pilot, president of sales and marketing at the programmer.
"Maryam is a seasoned marketing executive with nearly 20 years of experience across a wide range of media," said Pilot in a statement. "She's creative, isn't afraid to experiment, and most importantly, understands how a media company can effectively function as a first-class marketing partner for its clients." Banikarim is also charged with overseeing sales marketing for the company's women and lifestyle cross-platform sales initiatives, Women@NBCU and Green is Universal. She reports to Lauren Zalaznick, president, NBC Universal Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks, in those areas. "She will be a tremendous asset to our Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks team as we continue to build on the successful sales initiatives in the marketplace," said Zalaznick.As Univision's first CMO, Banikarim oversaw marketing activities across TV, radio, online and music platforms. With her departure two weeks ago, Univision said it is not filling the CMO position. She joined the U.S. Spanish-language media leader in 2002 as senior vice president of strategic marketing for Univision Networks. NBCU's Telemundo and mun2 competes with Univision, its broadcast brethren Telefutura and cable cousin Galavision.

It appears simply to be coincidence (it was the Presidents Day holiday week), but neither the House nor Senate were around as about a quarter of the TV stations in the country pulled the plug (sort of) on analog TV."
