BBC America Says HD Launches Will Be Announced Soon "No launches yet for BBC America's new high-definition channel .
The channel scheduled a slew of popular sci-fi shows for the first week, including new Torchwood episodes Monday-Friday, that had many viewers talking about the channel on Twitter on Monday.
Citing complications involving the availability of HD shows such as Torchwood: Children of Earth, which only just aired on the BBC in the United Kingdom with big ratings, the network did not announce the HD launch date until June 1. As a result, it has taken a while for BBC America to line up launches

Friday was a huge night for kids’ TV, with Disney Channel airing the much-anticipated “Hannah Montana,” “Suite Life on Deck” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” crossover special
“Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” averaged 3.8 million kids 6-11 and 3.7 million tweens 9-14, becoming the No. 2 show on broadcast or cable this year in those demos, behind only the Super Bowl.
“Wizards on Deck” was the most-watched Friday telecast on Disney since “High School Musical 2” drew more than 17 million viewers two years ago.

The latest Twitter hack appears to have been the result of guessing the password of company co-founder Evan Williams via GoogleApps service, according to reports. The cracked password allowed the hacker to access company finances, biz dev plans, spreadsheets and personal info., including details of his wife's computer. The hacker went so far as to send some of the juicy details to two prominent tech blogs - TechCrunch in S.F. and Korben in France ­ and TechCrunch published a document that pegs Twitter's revenues at $1.54 billion by 2013. (By this time, Twitter hopes to have a billion users worldwide.) Analysts shrugged off the projections as "overly optimistic," in the words of eMarketer's Paula Verna. Security experts utilized the whole affair to remind users to choose their passwords carefully and to remind IT departments to beef up encryption efforts.
